  19.         I may be over looking the obvious.
  20.         The answer to my following question may be "..get Lock & Key".  If 
  21.      it is, then I want to know that, but I would like to here other ideas 
  22.      also.
  23.         The problem is that I have two rings parented to a null as shown:

  36.         When the null rotates its heading, the rings rotate with it.  The 
  37.      illusion produced is that the rings are rolling on thier center with 
  38.      the edges remaining always in contact.  The edges remain connected at 
  39.      the same spot, but it appears as if the rings' edges are rolling as 
  40.      two warbling mill stones. (ie. as in the containment rings in the 
  41.      Superman movies.) This is not the problem, or maybe it is...
  42.         I now wish to have my lightning bolts arch from a ring edge to near 
  43.      a stationary object close to the null (say a letter in a logo) for 
  44.      about 30 frames.  I can lock down the one end of the lightning bolt to 
  45.      the letter, but the other end of the bolt is the problem.  With the 
  46.      rings actually rotating only around thier center, and not rolling, I 
  47.      can't track the end of the bolt to the ring's edge.  I tried using 
  48.      morphing techniques (Although, I will use morphing to make the bolts 
  49.      crawl and jump), bones,  a combo.  I even tried rolling the rings, but 
  50.      this doesn't allow the two edges to remain in contact at all times, 
  51.      and I think I would still have the lightning bolt problem regardless.
  52.         Any Idears??
  53.         I'm about burned out on this one. (This is not to say that I am 
  54.      ever going to give up.) Too many late nights.
